How to Make a Booking

GB Fellows

GB Fellows are entitled to two complimentary dinners per term. Should you need assistance with your booking, please don’t hesitate to contact Events on events@stx.ox.ac.uk.

Policies

All members must present their St Cross College ID Card upon entry to all events.
Members must inform Events of all dietary requirements & names before the Event booking closes. If provided after booking closes we cannot guarantee we will be able to accommodate these changes.
For checking closure dates for bookings and further information for events please refer to the College website and the Termly Calendar.
Any cancellations must be notified prior to Event booking closure. After this time we cannot provide a refund.
All bookings for dining events should be made online: St Cross Meal booking and must be paid for at time of purchase, except for lunch walk-ins.

Lunches

There are two seating times available: 12:00 and 13:00. The last food service is at 13:30, and no food will be served after this time.

Lunch bookings close once full or by 14:00 the day before (e.g., 14:00 Sunday for Monday lunch). If you are unable to attend after making a booking, we kindly ask that you cancel by 14:00 the day before your reserved lunch.
Failure to cancel by this time may result in a charge.
Children are welcome to attend all lunches at the College.
Those under 12 are free of charge and do not need to be booked in.
Limited walk ins are available for fellows and students.

Dinners

Dinner Policies:
Please arrive 15 minutes early for all Dinners to allow time to be seated.

All Evening Meals (Halls, Dinners, Special Dinners, Feasts) bookings will close the Friday prior to the Event. Bookings will now open for 2 weeks before this.

Please look at the website for individual event dates.

Members can bring 3 guests for the Halls, Special Dinners and Tasting Dinner. St Cross Members must meet guests at Porters’ Lodge and guests must be accompanied by a member at all times.

College Halls are for adults only. Children under 14 are only permitted at Family Hall.

Guests are welcome with a St Cross member - non-St Cross members should not attend dinners without a St Cross host.

In the rare situation that you are unable to attend Formal Hall due to exceptional circumstances then a request can be made to the Events Manager after the event for a non-attendance refund, either in full or part.

Allergen and dietary cards will be provided to those who have signed up with a dietary requirement. These must be displayed throughout the dinner.

There is no seating plan for Halls but you should arrive with those you wish to sit with.

Wine bottles can be purchased for Halls at the time of booking.

Only one Special Dinner booking per term is permitted.

For the Feast only one booking per member is permitted and no guests are allowed.

Wine is sold “paired with meal” for Special Dinners, Feasts, Tasting Dinner & Governing Body Dinner.

Hall dinners begin at 18:45. Wine can be ordered through the booking system.

Special dinners start with drinks in the Common Room at 19:00, followed by dinner in Hall at 19:30. Dinner bookings close by 10:00 on the Friday prior.

Please note that there is currently no waiting list for dinners.
