Online Ordering Process
In order to
place an order with 1876 Distinction Catering at Johns Hopkins University (we/our), the Customer (you):
1.
Must have an active account.
2.
Must only order for yourself or
your employer or any other organization for which you have been given authority
so to do.
3.
Must provide (for Orders to be
Delivered), a postcode, delivery time and delivery date. The postcode must be
within our agreed delivery zones, otherwise we reserve the right to refuse
sale. Delivery dates and times must be compatible with the delivery open
times.
4.
Must place an order equal to or
higher than the minimum order value ($300).
5.
You may add Order Notes and
Delivery Notes following the selection of food, and we will endeavor to comply
with reasonable requests. You must select a delivery address (for Orders not to
be collected), and may add optional delivery information. You must input or
select a billing address.
6.
You may choose to make payment
On Account provided that we have accorded that facility to you, or by credit or
debit card.
7.
In order to place an order, you
must agree to these Terms & Conditions, which are available at any point
during the order process.
8. Abusive or offensive
language will not be tolerated, and 1876 Distinction may suspend or terminate
the account in question.
Receipt of Order
All customers
will receive email confirmation of their order automatically following the
order being placed. The email confirmation will include full breakdown of items
and costs involved in the order, the total cost, the delivery date, the
requested delivery deadline and location for orders to be delivered.
Amendments to Orders/Cancellations
All order changes (menu revisions, increase/decrease in guest count, etc.) must be communicated 1 week or 5 business days before your event date. All efforts will be made to accommodate changes, however, please note that there may be limitations or additional fees associated with changes occurring with less than 3 business days' notice. Increasing/decreasing guest counts over 20% of initial final guarantee with less than 3 business days' notice may result in additional charges. We reserve the right to refuse changes requested within
24 hours of the order time. All changes
must be submitted to our team in writing.
In the event that you need to cancel your order, cancellations must be submitted in writing at least 3 business days prior to your event to avoid any charges. Cancellations made after this time will result in a 50% charge to cover any accrued expenses in organizing and supplying your event. Cancellations made after 12:00p (noon) the day prior to the event will be subject to a charge of 100% of the total cost of the order. If Johns Hopkins University is closed due to inclement weather, all catering events will be automatically cancelled, and no fees will apply to events cancelling due to inclement weather.
Refunds
If the products
or service you receive are incorrect or do not meet the standards of 1876 Distinction
Catering at Johns Hopkins University, you may be entitled to a full replacement
of order, a refund or partial refund. You must contact your 1876 Distinction representative
within 3 working hours of delivery of goods with details of any perceived
deficiencies.
Nonrefundable
For reasons of
hygiene and public health, exchanges are not available for food items.
Lead time and Deliveries
We require a
working lead time of 14 calendar days for all online orders. If you would like to place an order with us with less advance notice or if your event date is blocked off on our calendar, please email us as we may have limited availability. Additional delivery
costs may apply if your delivery address is outside of our normal delivery zone.
Product Descriptions
1876 Distinction
attempts to be as accurate as possible when writing menu descriptions. However, we do not maintain that product
descriptions are accurate, completely reliable, or error free at all times.
Occasionally, there may be information provided by 1876 Distinction that contains
typographical errors, inaccuracies or omissions that may relate to product
descriptions, pricing and availability. We reserve the
right to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions and to change or update
information at any time without prior notice (including after you have
submitted your order). We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Allergies & Dietary Restrictions
Gluten Free, Lactose Free, Kosher, Vegetarian, Vegan, and any other specialty dietary meals can be provided upon request and advance notice (5 business days). Additional fees may apply.
Alcohol & Bar Service
All alcohol provided at 1876-catered events is property of 1876 Distinction. Any alcohol served at events must be consumed on event premises; alcohol is not permitted to leave the event premises before, during, or after the duration of the event. Any leftover alcohol is property of 1876 Distinction and is not permitted to leave the event premises after the conclusion of the event. Any missing inventory will be billed to the client after the conclusion of the event.
Room Reservations
1876 Distinction does not manage reservations or bookings of event spaces on the Johns Hopkins Homewood Campus. We suggest reserving your event space/meeting room PRIOR to coordinating your catering arrangements. We can help suggest venues for your event, but they will be pending availability with the JHU Scheduling and Event Services team.
Pricing and Sales Tax
Prices and availability of items are subject to change without notice. Prices advertised on our website exclude sales taxes and administrative fees. All catering orders are subject to a 20% administrative fee, which covers support items (setup/breakdown labor, delivery fees, etc.) that help facilitate your event. Sales tax will be charged in accordance with the prevailing tax laws.
Copyrights
All content included on our website such as text, graphics, logos, button icons, images, audio clips, digital downloads, and software is protected by copyright laws.
Leftovers
For the health and safety of our guests, it is our strict policy that all perishable food must remain with the catering department at the end of the event for proper disposal. Unless specifically ordered and contracted as carry-out items, no perishable food or related products may be removed from the service area, except by an authorized representative of the catering team. If food is removed from an event, 1876 Distinction is not responsible or liable for the quality or safety of these items. The Free Food Alert program is designed to notify students of immediate food available for consumption. 1876 is not responsible or liable for the quality or safety of food items taken as part of the Free Food Alert program or taken at the conclusion of the event.

License and Site Access
1876 Distinction
grants you a limited license to access this site. This license does not include
any resale or commercial use of this site or its contents, nor any collection
or use of any product listings descriptions or prices, nor any derivative use
of this site or its contents, nor any downloading or copying of account
information for the benefit of another merchant nor any use of data mining, robots
or similar data gathering and extraction tools.
This site may
not be reproduced, duplicated, copied, sold, resold or otherwise exploited for
any commercial gain.
